Rumoured to be in the French capital at one stage to discuss terms with Paris Saint-Germain as the rumours of Alexis Sanchez potentially leaving Arsenal this summer refuse to go away, it seems Ligue 1 won’t be the Chile international’s next destination.
According to France Football journalist Nabil Djellit, the French side have decided to stop their pursuit of the Gunners star, as his intention is, and always has been, to go to Manchester City if he were to leave the Emirates.

Furthermore, Sanchez is said to be biding his time and is waiting to find a solution to his problem with Arsenal, which basically means them to accept an offer from Pep Guardiola’s side.
The Citizens have been linked throughout the summer with a move for the former Barcelona forward, yet for all the talk, there’s been very little action.
This appears to be mostly down to Arsenal’s reluctance to sell their best player to a Premier League rival, and they could run the risk of seeing him leave on a free next summer.
By doing so, is Arsène Wenger just delaying the inevitable?
It’s not over until it’s over, however, and there’s always the chance the Gunners manage to convince Sanchez to sign a new deal before the end of the summer.
Anything is possible in football, after all.
