The father of Juventus forward Simone Zaza has told the Italian media West Ham United could close a deal for his soon. The Italy international looks surplus to requirements with the Serie A champions, and could move before the transfer deadline.
Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport Antonio Zaza was asked about the future of his son at Juventus, after failing to hold down a regular place in the team. Zaza senior confirmed there is interest from clubs in the Premier League, and West Ham are closing in on the forward.
Zaza’s father also confirmed Tottenham Hotspur have enquired about the player, and whether Juventus would sell the player to them.
“In England there is interest and West Ham that could close soon, but Tottenham did a survey to find out the feasibility of the deal,” said the player’s father.
Zaza joined Juventus from Sassuolo last summer, but was rarely used last season, and in particular in the major games. The Italian again watched from the bench last night for Juventus’ first league game of the season, and with the arrival of superstar Gonzalo Higuain this summer, Zaza’s days looked numbered at Juventus.
