Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo have a feature in their Wednesday edition on the future of Aleix Vidal, who is expected to leave Barcelona as soon as the January transfer window. Vidal’s future being under question therefore brings up the issue of a new right back and, of course, Hector Bellerin is brought into the equation.

The Arsenal defender has repeatedly been linked with a return to Barcelona, where he came through La Masia, and there’s been insinuations that the player would be tempted to return to Spain.

Manchester City have also been repeatedly linked with an attempt to buy Bellerin from Arsenal, and Pep Guardiola is said to be rivalling his old club.

Interestingly, Mundo Deportivo, who have always been calmer on the situation, suggest it’s more Bellerin wanting Barcelona than the other way around.

Barcelona are very keen on the Arsenal player, but his cost is putting them off and bringing other options into the equation.
