Galatasaray’s offer to Chelsea’s Nigerian midfielder John Obi Mikel has been rejected by the player himself, explain Fanatik.

The club nicknamed Cim-Bom wanted Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva before but Jurgen Klopp blocked the move because he wants Lucas to stay and cover a variety of roles within the team.

Galatasaray has also been linked to Leicester City’s Gökhan İnler, Newcastle United’s Cheick Tiote and Marseille’s Lass Diarra. Newcastle wants at least €10M for the Ivorian and Rafa Benitez is said to see him as a key member of his squad who can help the club quickly return to the Premier League.

Mikel is said to be relishing working under Antonio Conte and Fanatik say a friend of the footballer’s has been speaking to the Nigerian press explaining just that.

He very flattered about Galatasaray’s offer but he kindly refused as he wants to remain as a Chelsea player. Mikel currently is the second longest-serving player at the Blues just behind captain John Terry.
