As we’ve pointed out more than once at Sport Witness, Marca haven’t yet gone huge on Harry Kane to Real Madrid.

Sure, over the past week they’ve given his record breaking a double page spread, had a journalist say he could suit Madrid, and given Kane a front page after fans picked him out as the favourite target… but he’s certainly not had the full ‘Marca’ treatment.

Everything has been very respectful of Tottenham, and the likelihood of a transfer hasn’t been talked up. That’s likely because a deal would be very difficult, and on Saturday Marca state it’s not only down to money.

Kane is a player who puts ‘happiness before fame’ and is currently very content to remain with Tottenham, as far as Marca are concerned. So whilst the appreciation continues, and Marca will celebrate Kane at any opportunity, they haven’t flung themselves into a transfer battle on behalf of Real Madrid.

Marca say Mauricio Pochettino has ‘poured a jug of cold water’ over Real Madrid fans by insisting Kane is priceless. The Spanish newspaper add that Daniel Levy ‘wouldn’t start negotiations for less than €200m’.

An unrequited love… so far.
