Former Liverpool attacker Suso has told the Spanish media that he was able to mature as a player during his time at Anfield.
The player could be set to face England next week in the UEFA Nations League.
Speaking to Marca, Suso was asked about his experiences at Liverpool and the upcoming game against England: “Now comes the most important game, the one against England. They are a very strong opponent, who know what they play for. They have very young players who are improving a lot.
“I met many in the Liverpool academy and it is a country that is working very well with the youth systems.”
The Spaniard added: “You learn in all places. From there I have the culture of football. And being abroad so young, living with another language, helps you mature much faster.”
Suso came through the Liverpool academy after joining the Premier League club from Cadiz in 2010. The 24 year old would go on to make 14 league appearances for the Merseyside club before his move to AC Milan in 2015.
The Spain international has become a key figure with the Serie A club in recent seasons and his performances have brought him Spain call-ups.
Last November the winger made his international debut against Russia and he’ll be hoping to add to his two caps when Luis Enrique’s side take on England on Monday night.
