Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as a possible destination for Arkadiusz Milik after his move to AS Roma didn’t take shape.

On September 23rd, multiple reports from Italy explained the Napoli striker’s agent David Pantak is set to travel to London to hold talks with Spurs.

The north London club’s emissaries were in Milan yesterday to negotiate a deal for Inter defender Milan Škriniar.

According to Calciomercato.it, Spurs representatives also met intermediaries representing Milik, and Wednesday’s meeting had a ‘positive outcome’. The two parties are expected to continue further talks today.

In the next few days, José Mourinho and Daniel Levy will discuss the possibility of signing the Poland international.

Roma wanted to take Milik on a loan deal with an obligation to buy, and Napoli wanted to extend his contract until 2022 before sanctioning this deal. Calciomercato.it states it’s possible that Spurs would also look for a similar deal to sign the player.

Pantak was in Naples yesterday afternoon and then returned to Poland. The agent is expected to return for the ‘decisive summit’, and both Napoli and the representative hope the ‘summit’ will take place ‘as soon as possible’.

Another Italian outlet Calciomercato.com states Pantak is expected to fly to London in the next few days. There’s interest from both sides, and negotiations could ‘enter a hot phase’.

This could be an ideal solution for all parties involved. Milik’s move to Tottenham would see Mourinho have a deputy for Harry Kane, the striker would have an opportunity to make it to the Poland squad for next summer’s European championship and Napoli can cash in on a player whose contract expires in 2021.

Calciomercato states ‘A bargain for everyone, in short, but [the transfer has] to be closed as soon as possible’.
