Earlier this week, we published an article explaining the growing Spanish claims on a partnership formed between Leeds United and Aspire Academy, which would also involve Spanish side Cultural Leonesa.
The first player to be signed in this new model was Ouasim Bouy, who has just been bought by Leeds on a four year deal, and will spend the first of these years on loan at the Segunda División club rather than at Elland Road.
Cultural are a humble club, with no major titles, so the partnership with Leeds United is a big thing for them, which can mean some great additions for their squad.
That’s why the arrival of the 24-year-old had received big coverage from the local Spanish press, further encouraged by Bouy also having spent time on the Juventus books.
The Spanish club’s sporting director Oscar Cano has spoken to the local press on Friday, and gave a few more details about the scheme: “It has to do with the relationship between the tentacles that are part of the macro-project in which we are immersed, but the possibilities of Leeds are different from ours. In this case we have been great beneficiaries of the arrival of Bouy because we could not access a player of his magnitude.”
Regarding Bouy, Cano said: “At his start he even played as an advanced midfielder. He has been a central midfielder and in the last season at the Zwolle he played as a left midfielder. He can cover several roles and has a lot of quality.” (via AS )
‘It has to do with the relationship between the tentacles that are part of the macro-project in which we are immersed’ – Modern football, eh?
