Italian side Salernitana are eying a move for Hull City’s Ozan Tufan as they look to sign a midfielder in the January transfer window.
That’s according to Tutto Salernitana, who say Salernitana sporting director Morgan de Sanctis has the Hull City midfielder ‘in his sights’ ahead of the winter window.
Tufan joined the Tigers in a €3m deal from Fenerbahce in the summer and has been a regular for them since, with 18 appearances and three goals in the Championship so far.
He’s very much a key player for the club, impressing in England after an unsuccessful loan spell at Watford last season.
That has apparently caught the attention of Salernitana, who are looking for midfield reinforcements and ‘looking with interest’ at the Turkish market.
That’s alerted them to Tufan and De Sanctis has the Hull City midfielder ‘in his sights’ as he draws up a list of possible targets.
There is no mention of a potential asking price, although Hull would presumably ask for more than the €3m they paid in the summer, nor contacts between the two clubs or even Salernitana and Tufan’s agents.
The interest is there, though, and something to potentially keep an eye on as we get closer to the January transfer window.
