Sporting Club de Portugal defender Ousmane Diomande has been asked directly about interest from Arsenal, and whether his last game is on Sunday because of it.
Diário de Notícias have a piece on the 21-year-old today and comments from him about his future at the Portuguese club as Arsenal reportedly consider a move.
The defender now has two Portuguese titles under his belt with Sporting and has played a big part in both, with this season proving to be more complicated than the last for him.
Like many players, though, he has developed into a star man with the Portuguese side and as a result has regularly been linked with a move away from the club.
The Premier League has long been a potential destination, with several clubs in England thought to be keeping a close eye on the 21-year-old’s development.
This summer could be the one in which clubs finally move and the latest reports have indicated that Arsenal want to add him to Mikel Arteta’s squad. They’re expected to have a busy summer under their new director of football Andrea Berta.
That led Diário de Notícias to ask Diomande directly about the Arsenal rumour, and whether his last game could be on Sunday as a result.
“I’m just focused on Sporting; I don’t care what the media writes about it. There are many things… I’m just focused on Sporting. I only think about Sporting,” he said.
