Dundee forward Yordi Teijsse has backed Tottenham Hotspur’s new signing Vincent Janssen to be a success in England. The two Dutchmen were teammates at Almere City, and both got transfers to the UK in this transfer window.

Speaking to the Dundee Evening Telegraph, Teijese was asked about Tottenham’s recent £18m signing. The Dundee player said it was only a year ago they were playing in the same team in Holland, and now both of their careers have taken off.

Teijese believes this proves you can make a name for yourself in the Netherlands, and he thinks Janssen will be good for Tottenham as he is a very good player.

“He was with my old team just one year ago and now he is in England. Things have changed very quickly for me, too. It shows you what can be done when you do well in Dutch football. He will be a big success down there, I am sure. He is very good,” said the Dundee forward.

Tottenham finally secured Janssen this week after weeks of talks between the North London club and Dutch side AZ. The forward ended last season as the top scorer in the Dutch league which led to a call up to the national team.

Teijese recently signed for Dundee on a free transfer from Quick Boys.
