It’s fair to say David Silva impressed for Spain on Thursday night as the country’s national team beat Roberto Martinez’s Belgium 2-0 away from home.
Spanish newspaper Marca point out in their Friday edition that Silva was so impressive, when he was taken off on 75 minutes, having controlled the pace of the game until that point, even the home fans applauded his efforts on the pitch.
The praise sent Silva’s way is gushing to say the say least. Marca call it ‘The orchestra of Silva’, label his efforts ‘spectacular’ and name him Spain’s Most Valuable Player of the night.
Of course, the Manchester City player scoring twice will have contributed much to the story, but Marca genuinely seem more impressed with his overall performance, rather than simply reacting to the two goals he scored.
David Silva brimming with confidence is brilliant news for Manchester City and Pep Guardiola ahead of the derby against Manchester United.
