Eric Garcia has been wheeled out in front of the Spanish media, with the inevitable consequence being he was bombarded with questions about a summer move to Barcelona.
The defender clearly didn’t want to give any detailed answers, and tried to avoid being specific about what’s going to happen when his contract expires at the end of June. Garcia replied to repeated questions by telling journalists they’d have to speak to his agent if they want to know what’s happening with regards to a transfer.
Still, the Spanish media present continued their efforts and found a route in with a question about Lionel Messi. Asked if he’d like to line-up alongside the Argentine legend, Garcia is quoted by Mundo Deportivo as saying: “Everyone knows that Messi is the best player in the world, it would be special for anyone, week after week what he does is incredible.”
Quizzed on Barcelona generally, he replied: “I follow Barca games, like those of other leagues, and it is true that Barca is going through a good time and the coach is showing confidence in the youngsters.”
As the Spanish media continued to try their best to get anything Barcelona related out of the Manchester City player he continued to display some skill in batting the questions away.
That showed some good maturity from the 20-year-old and his media skills will certainly help when he likely signs for the La Liga side and sees the interest in him rise.
