Celtic are eliminated from the Europa League after suffering a 3-0 aggregate defeat to Valencia in the knockout stages of the competition.
After suffering a 2-0 defeat in the first leg at Celtic Park, the Bhoys lost 1-0 to Los Che, courtesy of substitute Kevin Gamerio’s 70th minute goal.
Brendan Rodgers saw his side play the majority of the game with 10 men after right wing-back Jeremy Tolijan was given his marching orders eight minutes before the break.
We take a look at the player ratings given to Celtic players with Spanish newspaper AS.
For being sent off, Tolijan has received a blank rating. Two stars have been given to Celtic goalkeeper Scott Bain, defender Dedryck Boyata, midfielders Callum McGregor and Jonny Hayes, along with Oliver Burke.
The rest received a single star rating and this includes the likes of Jozo Šimunović, Kristoffer Ajer, Scott Brown, forwards James Forrest and Ryan Christie. Substitutes Mikey Johnston and Odsonne Édouard were also given single star.
Catalan newspaper Sport like AS, were a bit generous in their rating to Celtic players, despite the defeat. Goalkeeper Bain has given a highest rating of 7/10, while Boyata, Ajer, Hayes, McGregor, Christie, Burke and substitute Edourad were handed 6/10 ratings.
Tolijan was given three and the rest, Šimunović, Forrest and Brown got a rating of 5/10.
With no more Europa League this season, Rodgers’ side can now focus on domestic competitions.
