Aston Villa are one of the clubs in the picture to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Giovani Lo Celso, according to Marca.
The midfielder was on loan at Villarreal from January 2022 and has returned to Spurs. He’s currently part of Tottenham’s squad for their pre-season tour but his future remains uncertain.
The Spanish newspaper say they have ‘confirmed’ the Tottenham player has interest from Aston Villa, Real Betis, Napoli and Barcelona.
Unai Emery knows the 27-year-old first hand as he managed him during his time with the La Liga side.
It’s claimed the Villans manager and their new sporting director, Monchi, are both well aware of the Argentina international’s situation. That’s all the report has to say about Aston Villa.
Marca also say Ange Postecoglou is taking a closer look at the South American and could consider including him in his plans next season. Therefore, his stay at Tottenham is not yet ruled out.
Back in April, Argentina’s TyC Sports reported Emery’s side have been following Lo Celso for a long time and are considering making an offer for him this summer.
