With the Spanish government announcing today the end of restrictions for flights from the United Kingdom, football matches are greatly affected by it.

So as now reported by Marca, Real Madrid will be able to face Liverpool at home for the Champions League’s quarter-finals. Restrictions, which banned flights from the UK, are set to end on March 30th.

The outlet confirms that the match will be played on the 6th of April at the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium, since the Santiago Bernabeu is unavailable due to building work.

They point out that the game had been expected to be played in Budapest, where Liverpool played against Atletico Madrid, but that won’t be necessary now.

The Spanish media take it as great news for Real Madrid, who won’t need to make a trip abroad to play a game they can host at home.

Following the international break, Liverpool have a tough schedule ahead. They first face Arsenal in the Premier League, then take the trip to Madrid for the first tie. The Reds return to England to face Aston Villa, and then host the Galacticos at Anfield in the decisive leg.
