Real Sociedad boss Imanol Alguacil has warned Barcelona they will have to pay €70m if they want to sign Willian José.

The Spanish giants have been heavily linked with a move for the Brazilian striker this month as they try to replace the injured Luis Suárez.

While the transfer window is closed, a recent injury to Ousmane Dembélé, who has been ruled out for six months, could open the door for them to make an emergency signing to replace him.

José is the man they have targeted, although Real Sociedad’s demands were thought to be pushing them to look elsewhere.

According to Sport, the two clubs have been discussing a potential deal, but La Real have set a €50m asking price on their man, a figure Barcelona were not willing to reach.

It appears that price has now increased to €70m, though, with Sociedad manager Alguacil insisting that is what Barcelona will have to pay if they want his striker.

“We have been with this issue for a month, and the team and the player have not been affected,” Sport report him saying in a press conference.

“This is another week talking about ‘Willy’, but luckily we have him with us.

“If they pay 70 million… But I understand that it will not be like that. They have been talking about it for many days, and he wants to continue with us, and I understand that he will continue until the end of the season.”
