West Ham United are one of a number of English clubs interested in, and following, Diego Llorente, reports Mundo Deportivo Basque edition on Friday.

The Hammers sent an official to watch the 25 year old in action against Levante just before the international break. Llorente played the whole match and his Real Sociedad side won 3-1.

After that, he went off to join the Spanish national team, making his second appearance. A trivia worthy point is that Llorente has made two Spain appearances, more than two years apart, and they’ve both been in friendlies against Bosnia.

A central defender, the former Real Madrid player has a €50m buyout clause, although Los Blancos can get him back for half that.

Earlier this month, Cadena Ser reported Liverpool, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested. West Ham didn’t get a mentioned then.

Mundo reiterates that Liverpool were also at the Levante match, and claims Tottenham and Fulham are sending scouts to Llorente’s next scheduled game, against Celta Vigo on Monday.
