As Tottenham Hotspur are still looking to sign a goalkeeper this window, rumours from Spain are making things sound complicated.

On Wednesday, Marca are claiming that the Spurs are in talks with Valencia to sign Brazilian goalkeeper Diego Alves. The Spanish newspaper says Tottenham are afraid of having the Paul Lopez deal collapse and see Alves as a backup option.

Lopez’s deal would cost the Spurs €600k for a one-year loan, with a €7m buying option included, but as we’re on deadline day, the English side are afraid the negotiations won’t end in time.

The 31 year old has been playing at the top level for a long time, but at Valencia there’s also the competition of Matthew Ryan, who started the club’s last match.
