Finally having the decisive impact many expected him to offer when signed from Sevilla, Fernando Llorente’s two very late goals against Crystal Palace sealed Swansea’s first win in all competitions since the 23rd of August.
The Spanish target man was brought on by Bob Bradley with 24 minutes to go, a move that proved to be a masterstroke as his 91st and 93rd minute goals saw Swansea come back from 4-3 down to win 5-4 at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.
Far from wanting to already leave the Swans, Llorente was, however, asked a rather difficult question during an interview with Onda Cero in Spain on Tuesday night, relayed by El Correo.
Asked if he would ever return to Athletic Bilbao, the club that launched his career, the Spaniard said: “At the moment, no one knows. Without a doubt, I’d think about it a lot. They’re the club that gave me everything and I have a lot of affection towards them.”
As for the interest of Valencia in his services, the player said: “I don’t know anything about that.”
Llorente spent 11 years at Bilbao before leaving the club on a free for Juventus in 2013.
During his time there, the striker made 327 appearances, scored 111 goals and picked up 36 assists.
Signing a two-year contract with Swansea in the summer following a £5m move, Llorente has scored three goals in 11 appearances so far this season.
