Spanish newspaper Marca present Quique Sánchez Flores to Stoke City as a done thing in their Saturday edition.
Espanyol are said to be well aware of the situation and rather than panicking the club are assuring the Spanish media they’re calm over the situation, feeling their structure won’t be hit so much by the head coach leaving.
There’s already links with people to take over but certainly no panic situation at the Barcelona club.
Flores can leave for Stoke ‘in the next few hours’ report Marca, and his €4m clause will be paid for the move to the Premier League. The former Watford manager is set to get a contract covering five seasons, according to these latest Spanish claims.
The secret of the Stoke move is now an open one and Marca state Flores has confided the news to some of his closest friends at Espanyol.
There will be a press conference today, explain the Spanish newspaper, which if it happens is likely to be Espanyol confirming the situation.
Update: Guillem Balague now reports Flores is staying at Espanyol, which suggests something has gone very wrong at the last minute.
