Quique Sánchez Flores is currently in a meeting with Espanyol about his future, with Stoke City claims building in recent days.
The Espanyol manager is thought to have an offer to take over at Stoke City, and the Premier League club have sent officials to Barcelona to try and close a deal.
Mundo Deportivo bring the update and the Catalan newspaper report that after Friday’s training session, Flores stayed behind at Dani Jarque Sports City.
Club general director Óscar Perarnau and sports director Jordi Lardín have been in the meeting with Flores, although the latter is said to have left at 2pm Spanish time.
The Mundo Deportivo claims, which come from journalist Anna Cordovilla, are certainly good on detail.
The Catalan newspaper state Stoke City, or Flores directly, would have to pay Espanyol a €4m termination clause if the manager is to leave his position right now.
Elsewhere in Spain it had been reported this payment may not be necessary.
