Jon Toral, on loan at Granada from Arsenal, has managed just 223 minutes for the Spanish club so far this season. Injury issues haven’t helped and there’s worry Toral could be set for another spell on the sidelines.
Snapped up by Arsene Wenger in 2011 from Barcelona’s La Masia system, Toral is now on his third loan away from Arsenal. The attacking midfielder faces huge competition at his parent club, with the likes of Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey in his way. Also able to play wide, Toral wouldn’t find much more joy there at Arsenal.
Still, at Birmingham City and Brentford, Toral has shown he’s a good footballer and at the age of 21 there’s plenty of time for the Spaniard to develop further.
Marca report on Tuesday that Toral was great against Osasuna at the end of November, but that injuries keep holding the Arsenal owned player back.
A right ankle injury is keeping Toral out and Marca say he’s ‘accelerated’ his recovery and will be back ‘as soon as possible’.
Maybe less acceleration in returning from injuries would help prevent the injuries from returning.
