As clubs prepare to have a few friendlies during the World Cup, we now get to see that Nottingham Forest are apparently making a trip to Spain to keep their squad in form.
That was revealed today by Valencia manager Gennaro Gattuso, who said that the Mestalla side are about to receive a few foreign sides in their city.
In a Wednesday press conference, the coach revealed that Nottingham Forest are among five clubs who’ll be going there to play during the international break.
“We will play five friendlies, one against Nottingham Forest at the Mestalla, the others we will play at Puchades. We will stay in Valencia. Many teams come here for the temperature, for everything… So why are we going abroad?” said Gattuso (via Plaza Deportiva).
Even though Premier League’s top clubs are missing chunks of their squads during the World Cup, there are also those who still need to keep their players in shape in that period, and that’s the case of Nottingham Forest.
The Reds, who stand at the bottom of the Premier League table, are set to use the time off to improve before the Boxing Day, and then will soon have the arrival of their January signings, who can hopefully help them avoid relegation back to the Championship.
