Real Madrid have been quite silent in the transfer market this season, with Alvaro Morata the only addition to Zinedine Zidane’s squad.
On Thursday, reports in Spanish media suggest Real Madrid are prepared to go big for Bayern Munich star David Alaba, but they’re not the only interested club.
According to Spanish newspaper AS, Barcelona, Manchester United, and Manchester City have also shown interest in signing the Austrian international.
Bayern Munich, however, want to keep Alaba at the club, and have put up a price tag of €80m on him to put off the interested clubs.
Real Madrid are willing to offer €65m for Alaba, but the German champions want Pepe also to be a part of the deal.
Manchester United and Manchester City have already spent big this summer, so it would surely be unlikely they’ll try to sign Alaba this summer. AS probably just need extra names to make it more interesting.
Alaba recently signed a contract extension at Bayern Munich, and has another five years left on his contract, so the German champions aren’t under pressure to sell him.
This probably all needs a pinch of salt, the Madrid press need a player to target, and this week it’s Alaba.
