Valencia’s teenage starlet Ferhat Cogalan is one of the jewels of the Spanish club’s academy and the attacking midfielder is now attracting interest from clubs across Europe.
According to the Catalan newspaper Sport, Barcelona have long been chasing the French-born Turkish player, a pursuit of more than two years. Cogalan, who will turn 16 in June, will be one their radar once again this summer.
It’s just Barcelona, Manchester United are also looking at the option of signing Cogalan, and are said to be one of the stronger options right now. Bayern Munich are another club interested in the 15-year-old. The Bundesliga winners already made an offer for Cogalan last week.
Real Madrid, Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund are also in the race for Cogalan, and are said to have ‘knocked on the door’. However, Sport claims that Bayern are in the driving seat, ahead of Barcelona and Manchester United.
The player has already signed a contract with Adidas, which shows he’s highly rated by them. Valencia are determined to keep Cogalan in Spain and are aware of the growing interest from several clubs across Europe in the player.
Valencia seem to be in a yearly battle to keep their best young talents at the club, and have a mixed success rate.
