Leeds United are now ‘one step away’ from signing Samu Saiz, according to Northern Spain’s El Comercio.
For example, the ‘reports from Spain’ of Saiz flying into Leeds a few days ago for a medical… they didn’t exist. Even now, despite what El Comercio say, this doesn’t feel a transfer that will get done today.
It’s reported in Spain that Leeds United will pay €3.5m for Saiz, which is a record for the Spanish club. Half of that amount will go to Atletico Madrid, where Huesca signed Saiz from.
There’s no advance on that, there’s no date for a medical, and it’s hard to tell if the claims, also made by others in Spain including AS, are nailed on or simply a a result of the gossip continuing.
One thing is for sure, if Leeds United have offered €3.5m then they’ve got a good chance of completing the deal, because that was Huesca’s asking price.
