The Lucas Moura and Liverpool claims are very strange indeed. Today the club’s interest is being reported everywhere.
Thursday’s edition of Spanish newspaper Sport even have it as a section of their ‘Al Mercado’ page, claiming: ‘Liverpool will not surrender for the Brazilian – Jurgen Klopp does not relent with Lucas Moura. Liverpool insists that the Premier League is the ideal place for PSG’s Brazilian to exploit his full potential’
They don’t explain where that has come from, but the best guess is the English media over the past 24 hours. Other than that it would have to be assumed the Spanish newspaper have their own sources about a Brazilian at a French club potentially moving to England.
Assuming it was from the English media, the whole thing falls down. It would appear that the Lucas Moura to Liverpool rumours have peaked again because he said he doesn’t want to move.
Speaking to Foot Mercato earlier this week, Moura was asked about Liverpool reports in the English media: “No. I’m happy here. I like Paris. I love the club. I like everyone. I always said I wanted to stay. I want to write my story here. But it depends on the club too. If the club wants me to stay, I stay.”
It doesn’t get much clearer than that. And yet Moura making it abdundantly clear he wants to stay at PSG has led to further transfer rumours.
Silly Season.
