Bastian Schweinsteiger’s comeback to Manchester United’s team obviously received a lot of coverage in the European media. Especially from those who don’t like the man who had stopped him from playing.
Catalan media outlets were never big fans of José Mourinho, so they weren’t going to miss an opportunity. That’s why Sport published an article saying the Portuguese manager has lost the ‘war’ against Schweinsteiger.
They claim that Mourinho’s loss is due to pressure from the squad. According to them, the Manchester United dressing room have never forgotten about Schweinsteiger, and convinced the manager to give him a new chance to train with the first team.
Then José Mourinho knew he needed to give the player some minutes, so he’s chosen a day when he knew the cameras couldn’t focus on him and his reaction. That’s why, under suspension from the FA following the Premier League game against West Ham, Mourinho hid out in the shadows rather than on public display.
Ridiculous, right? Whilst it’s not out of the realms of possibility for Mourinho to dream something like that up, this one sounds more like a Sport invention.
Sport claims that Schweinsteiger’s future is open now. They say that despite an offer from the MLS side Chicago Fire, the player could now be thinking of staying at Manchester United.
