Out of the blue, Nottingham Forest are about to sign Watford owned Costel Pantilimon, according to reports from the Spanish press this Tuesday.
Outlet Marca claims that the goalkeeper has already said farewell to his teammates at Deportivo La Coruna as he heads to the Championship.
The transfer comes as a surprise because there hasn’t been any speculation about it in Spain, even though Pantilimon wasn’t being much used by Depor.
There are still no big details on the agreement reached by Nottingham Forest with Watford. The goalkeeper had been on loan at Deportivo since the start of the season, after they reached an agreement with Watford for the whole campaign.
According to Marca, the Spanish side had too many goalkeepers in the squad and one of them had to leave, so the 30-year-old was probably the chosen one for being there on loan.
Pantilimon was a regular starter when he arrived at Deportivo, with six appearances in the first nine league games, but then lost his spot and never conquered it back.
Now let’s see if Nottingham Forest will reach an agreement with Watford to keep him for more than just six months.
