Aside from Real Madrid and their neighbours Atletico, the La Liga transfer window is yet to really get going this summer.

The Bernabeu has been a hotbed of action, and Atleti have gone about their business, but the market is waiting for Antoine Griezmann to move o Barcelona before kicking into gear.

As a result, Sandro Ramirez moving from Everton to Real Valladolid on loan is getting plenty of attention.

The striker secured his third loan in three years yesterday, signing on with Valladolid for the coming season.

Sandro hasn’t managed a goal in two years, after failing to score for either Real Sociedad last season or Sevilla before that.

Yet, his move has been covered across the Spanish media today, and the reaction has been positive across the board, which is surprising, to say the least.

El Desmarque say that Valladolid sporting director Miguel Ángel Gómez ‘trusts that (manager) Sergio González will recover the best version’ of the striker during his time at the club.

Marca, meanwhile, report that the ‘goalscoring clog’ that Sandro has suffered in the last two years doesn’t worry Valladolid in the slightest and they actually consider him a ‘flashy’ signing for the club.

Then there’s Ronaldo, the legendary Brazilian striker who now owns 51% of Valladolid, and his excitement about the signing. According to El Gol Digital, Ronaldo ‘trusts the ability’ of the player with El Gol adding he sees Sandro as a ‘very interesting piece capable of adapting to several positions, defining a set piece and with an experience that will come very well to Real Valladolid.”

Whether it turns out to be true is another matter, with Sandro hardly setting the world alight in the last few years.

However, he showed at Malaga that there’s a good player in there somewhere and perhaps the support he’ll clearly be getting at Valladolid may just be what he needs to get back on track.

Everton will certainly be hoping that’s the case, with them desperate to get him off a big money contract before its 2021 expiry date.
