Spanish newspaper AS join the chorus of claims that Sandro to Everton is now a sure thing. Having given up hope for Atletico, AS say Everton now hope the announce Sandro as their latest signing ‘in the coming hours’.

Everton are getting the player for his bargain buyout clause of €6m, and there’s no tax to pay on top of that either.

It must be noted that in near enough all the Spanish reports over the past 24 hours it’s been pointed out that Sandro will be joining an Everton side who are losing Romelu Lukaku.

There’s either an assumption, or direct information, that Lukaku’s exit is now nailed on, and therefore Sandro has been given assurances about his future at Everton, which is why progress has been made now, rather than a week ago when the player travelled to Liverpool for talks with Everton.

Lukaku’s move to Chelsea, as is reported in Spain, would see Diego Costa likely go to Atletico Madrid, and he would have provided competition for Sandro from January onwards.
