Southampton are doing their utmost to sign Monaco’s Guido Carrillo.
Mauricio Pellegrino is a big fan of the Argentinian striker, and RMC Sport are now reporting the Saints manager has convinced his club to bid €20m for the 26-year-old.
According to the French outlet, Carrillo is said to be ‘seduced’ by the idea of playing in the Premier League, especially under one of his former managers.
Southampton are reported to have made the Monaco forward their ‘priority’ for the January transfer market, as they attempt to rectify what has been a poor first half of the season by their standards.
This comes off the back of a report from L’Equipe on Friday morning in their print edition explaining the Saints had ‘multiplied contacts in recent days’ with Carrillo’s entourage in order to get a feel for the target man’s situation.
They explained Southampton were ready to make a ‘substantial offer’ for him, one that now appears to have been made.
