Southampton and West Ham United are favourites to sign Udinese defender Molla Wague, according to claims in the Italian media. The Mali international is currently on loan with the Serie A side from Spanish club Granada.
TMW have revealed Southampton and West Ham are closing in on Wague following him impressing for Udinese this season. The 25-year-old has been one of Udinese’s standout players in this campaign during a steady season for the Italian club.
However, his performances have brought him to the attention of Southampton and West Ham, with both Claude Puel and Slaven Bilic keen on the player. It’s been claimed major French clubs are also tracking Wague, but his likely destination is the Premier League.
Wague came through the Caen youth system before going on to make nearly 50 league appearances for the French side. The central defender signed for Granada in 2014, but was immediately loaned out to Udinese, where he’s been ever since. Wague has racked up 20 caps for Mali since making his debut in 2013.
