As we’ve said in the past, it wouldn’t be a real summer transfer window if Felipe Anderson wasn’t heavily involved in some way or another, and this year hasn’t disappointed.
The Lazio forward has, so far, been linked with Chelsea, Watford and West Ham, with Southampton the latest to be thrown into the mix.
Struggling last season, the Saints appear keen to rectify the situation by investing in their squad this summer, and Felipe Anderson could be one of the arrivals.
The claims of Southampton’s interest originated in Tuttosport on Tuesday, but Il Tempo on Wednesday run with them, adding a little bit more information to it in the process.
The snippet of goodness is that Mark Hughes’s team could end up having the upper hand in the deal should they decide to part ways with Manolo Gabbiadini this summer.
Lazio value Felipe Anderson at around €40m, but, through their director of football Igli Tare, also hold an interest in Southampton’s Italian striker, who is said to be worth around €20m.
You see where they’re going with this…
If the Premier League club are willing to let Gabbiadini leave, then Felipe Anderson could be theirs for €20m.
Bargain.
