5 years, €15 million spent on 7 different players, but none of them have been able to make the right back position their own at Galatasaray. Fanatik claim Galatasaray want to ‘finally’ end this misery by signing Barcelona’s Aleix Vidal, who is also being targeted by Southampton and Swansea City.

Galatasaray look set to earn €7m from Lukas Podolski’s move to Beijing Gouan and the Turkish club will want to use part of this for the Barcelona defender. Multiple reports in the Turkish media suggest former Galatasaray player Arda Turan recently spoke with his Barcelona team mate, and the Turkey international told Vidal a move to Galatasaray would be a good move.

Galatasaray want an initial loan deal for Vidal and the Turkish giants would also want a right of redemption on the player, which will be discussed with Barcelona next week. Vidal has been unable to make an impact at Barcelona since his €17million move from Sevilla, and the Catalan club would be prepared to sell the full back.

The 26-year old has also been drawing attention from Southampton and Swansea City in recent weeks as the two Premier League sides look to strengthen their squads in the new year.

Southampton and Swansea City are aware of Vidal’s situation at Barcelona, and could look take advantage in January, but will need to act fast will Galatasaray looking to close a deal for the Spaniard.
