Belgian football outlet Walfoot have reported Southampton loanee Jordy Clasie is likely to miss Club Brugges’ game at the weekend.

The Netherlands international joined the Jupiler side on loan for the season, but he’s hardly figured since his arrival at the club.

Clasie’s move to Brugges from Southampton this summer was seen as something of a coup in Belgium.

The 26 year old failed to make an impact at Southampton after his move from Feyenoord in 2015, with the player struggling to cope with the physicality of the Premier League.

His loan move to Brugges was seen as a perfect opportunity to kickstart his career, but he’s yet to start a game for the Belgian side.

Clasie missed the recent league game against Gent through injury, and despite having the international break to recover, Walfoot believe it looks likely his knee problem will keep him out of Sunday’s clash with Oostende.

Walfoot say his move from Southampton has yet to ‘bear fruit’ as Clasie looks to regain the form he showed whilst at Feyenoord.
