Despite signing Cedric Soares from Sporting in 2015, Southampton are still spending money on the transfer.

As reported by Portuguese newspaper Record, the clubs agreed performances bonuses which are still running.

Southampton have paid €5.5m for the signing, and accepted to spend other €250k every time the player reaches 15 appearances in a season for the club.
Record claims the Saints have already paid this amount twice. One time in the last season and another in the current one.

Cedric currently has 24 appearances this season, so as there are ten Premier League fixtures left, Sporting hope he can play other six games so they will receive other €250k.

CapturarThe newspaper doesn’t make it clear if these bonuses have a deadline or what other objectives are included. But the contract says that the figures could reach up to €1m.

Considering the clubs who have been linked to Cedric lately, this money will certainly end up worth it.
