Coming off the bench six times since the start of the season in the Premier League, Dan N’Lundulu is clearly a player Ralph Hasenhüttl has his eye on for the future.
He’s yet to score for the first-team, but he’s made up for it for the U23s, scoring a hat trick against Manchester City’s reserves back in November, for example.
At 21 years of age, he still has a lot of time ahead of him to break through at St Mary’s if that’s what he wants to do, but other clubs have started taking note of his ability, according to Foot Mercato in France.
The website reported late on Thursday there is ‘serious’ interest from English clubs, but also some in Italy and in Spain, where Real Betis ‘follow him and could even go on the offensive this winter’.
At the club since he was 13, N’Lundulu might feel overly attached to Southampton and be reluctant to leave just when he’s starting to catch the eye in the first-team, which is why Foot Mercato end their article stating ‘we’ll have to see what the Saints and the player plan on doing this winter’.
Probably a headache Hasenhüttl didn’t want to have.
