Southampton forward Manolo Gabbiadini has spoken to the Italian media with regards to losing the EFL Cup final against Manchester United last month. The Italy international has made an impressive start at Southampton since his arrival from Napoli in the last window.
TMW have reported on comments Gabbiadini has made to Sky Italia when asked about his time in England. The Southampton star said there are regrets over the result against Manchester United because of the goal which should have stood. However, Gabbiadini realises they now need to move because the game was in the past.
“My first goal was cancelled, but it was wasn’t offside, maybe the match would have changed. There are regrets, but here in England you can’t think about it. The match was three weeks ago, and is now part of the past,” said the Southampton.
Gabbiadini has made an impact since signing for Southampton, which recently earned him a recall to the Italian national squad. Despite his return it’s looking unlikely he will be joining up with his county after the injury he picked up yesterday during Southampton’s game with Tottenham Hotspur.
