Southampton are reportedly interested in Parma left-back Jayden Oosterwolde.
This chase is today reported by website Forza Parma, who claim the Saints are one of the clubs who’ve been impressed with the 21-year-old’s performances in Serie B.
According to the report, ‘transfer men’ from Southampton went to the Ennio Tardini stadium to watch the player in action.
Forza Parma highlights the fact that ‘in England they have always had an eye for this type of player’, pointing out that Oosterwolde is ‘physically promising’ and wins his ‘battles’ on the pitch.
The story claims that besides Southampton, German side Augsburg have also been interested in the player, having sent scouts to see him as well. So there may end up being a battle for his signing.
Oosterwolde joined Parma first on a loan deal from Twente in January this year, with the transfer being made permanent with a €3m fee this summer. That means the player has just signed a four-year deal with the Italian side, and convincing arguments should be needed to take him from them so soon.
