According to reports in the Swedish media, Southampton are showing interest in Östersund forward Saman Ghoddos.

The 24 year old has been key for OFK reaching the knockout stages of the Europa League, and his performances have put him in the shop window ahead of the summer transfer window.

Fotboll Direkt have reported Southampton sent a scout to the game between Arsenal and OFK on Thursday night to get a lowdown on Ghoddos. The Swedish side pulled off a shock 2-1 victory at the Emirates, and the Iran International was on hand to provide assists for both of his side’s goals.

If Southampton were to go in in for Ghoddos in the summer it’s likely they will face stiff competition with several clubs reported to be interested in the player.

The Saints were joined by fellow Premier League sides, West Ham United, Brighton, West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City on Thursday, who too are reported to be interested in Ghoddos.

There have also been claims Spanish side Celta Vigo want to sign the attacker, after they tabled a bid in the last window.
