Southampton have sent scouts to watch a Paços de Ferreira match once again. This time, club emissaries were present at an away tie against Estoril, according to newspaper A Bola.

This is quite interesting to see, because even clubs who have a permanent scouting team in Portugal, like Manchester United and Arsenal, aren’t always present at this kind of game.

But Southampton have been watching Paços de Ferreira since last season, and it seems they’re definitely interested in someone from the club.

As the local press doesn’t seem to know who the target is, we can only take a look on who may have impressed in that match, which ended with a 1-1 draw.

Brazilian striker Bruno Gomes opened the scoring for Estoril after only 18 seconds. This was his first goal since May 2017, and fair to say, quite a quick one.

Paços Ferreira had a good performance overall, scoring the equaliser early into the second half with defender Miguel Vieira.

Midfielders Assis, Ruben Micael, Pedrinho and Xavier were all praised by the local press and are therefore likely to have caught Southampton’s eye.
