There’s a claim in the Italian media Fiorentina could be interested in Southampton forward Manolo Gabbiadini ahead of the January transfer window.
In the past 12 months the 26 year old has been linked with a move back to Serie A endlessly, with a claim yesterday Sampdoria are also showing interest in the player.
Corriere dello Sport today report Gabbiadini may be reunited with Fiorentina manager Stefano Pioli, following their time together at Bologna. The Italy international enjoyed a decent spell at Bologna during the 2012/13 season.
It’s claimed the Serie A side could offload veteran forward Cyril Théréau in the next transfer window and the Southampton player is an option to replace him. The Frenchman has yet to feature for Fiorentina in the league this season.
With three years left on his Southampton contract, Corriere dello Sport believe this would allow room for Fiorentina to negotiate with the Premier League club, which suggests they will look for a loan deal.
Only yesterday we covered a report from Italy that Sampdoria could look to loan Gabbiadini with a right of redemption, although his wages would be an issue for the Genoa club.
