Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina continues to be linked with a return to Serie A. This time, the interested club would be Fiorentina.
According to website Calcio Mercato, La Viola are currently looking for a replacement for Jordan Veretout, who has agreed a move to AS Roma this summer.
And one of the names considered by sporting director Daniele Pradé is Lemina, who would be valued at €15m or €16m.
Calcio Mercato doesn’t report any talks for the player so far, so it’s not clear if Fiorentina are even sure they’re going for the 25-year-old this summer.
Calcio Mercato adds that Lemina had also been a target for Atalanta, but his high wages was a problem. That’s why the Serie A side ended up moving on and signing Ruslan Malinovskyi from Genk.
Lemina is well known in Italy for the couple of years he spent at Juventus, before making his €17.5m move to Southampton in 2017.
