Southampton open transfer talks to sign 19-year-old attacker – Player keen on move

There’s a claim in the Belgian media that Southampton are showing interest in KAA Gent attacker Mattias Fernandez-Pardo.

The Saints will be looking to bolster their squad this summer after achieving promotion back to the Premier League last season.

Sacha Tavolieri claims Southampton have entered into initial transfer talks with Gent to sign the 19 year old this summer.

Talks are said to be ongoing with the youngster’s agent and it’s stated the player is keen on a move to England even though it’s not his first-choice destination.

There have been no reports of a possible offer from Southampton, but they are said to see the right winger as a good fit for the club.

The Belgian journalist reports Fernandez-Pardo is also on the radar of Lazio and that the Serie A side have had a €10m offer rejected by Gent.

Fernandez-Pardo made nine senior appearances last season and is contracted to Gent until June 2026. He’s been capped by Belgium at all youth levels.
