Atalanta’s Franck Kessie has reportedly caught the eye of several top European clubs, including the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United.
The latest English club to enter the race for the defensive midfielder is Southampton, but they face competition from Juventus, reports Calciomercato.
Calciomercato say Juventus will directly contact Atalanta in December for Kessie. The Serie A giants will look to ‘book or block’ the 19-year-old, but need to agree a transfer fee.
Atalanta could demand as much as €15m for Kessie, which Calciomercato believe English are ‘ready to get close to’.
Juventus, on the other hand, have the support of the player, who is keen on signing for them, and wants to continue in Italy as he has been doing very well. This therefore follows the path of a hundred Italian transfer rumours previously, the English clubs are ready to spend money but the player’s heart has been snatched by Italy.
The competition is strong for Kessie, but a lot will be dependent on his future performances. Interested clubs would want to see if he can keep delivering such impressive displays.
