It’s hard to get away from Luciano Vietto’s potential Atletico Madrid exit, and the clubs supposedly interested in signing the Argentine.

AS have an article on the situation in their Monday edition, and reiterate that Southampton are interested.

Southampton are thrown in with Marseille and Sampdoria as a trio of clubs from outside of Spain who are interested in 23 year old Vietto.

AS claim there’s widespread interest in Vietto, with the Spanish newspaper saying ‘half the first division’ in the country are keen on the player.

But despite all this claimed interest, nothing seems to be actually happening, and the daily reports dragging Southampton and others in don’t seem to have any real updates.

The situation remains pretty much as it was over a week ago. There is interest in Vietto, but that interest has been restricted to clubs wanting to loan the player rather than sign him on a permanent basis.

AS say Atletico would prefer the ‘cash’ which comes from a permanent sale, and that’s what they’re holding out for.

Same story same time tomorrow then.
