Hull City have now made it official that Andrea Ranocchia will not be staying at the club. After a short loan spell from Inter Milan, the central defender will be returning to Italy, where his future is still pretty uncertain.
Italian outlets are obviously covering it, and in Calcio Mercato’s story today, the player’s possibilities for the next season are analysed. They claim it’s highly unlikely Ranocchia will be staying at Inter after the probable arrival of Luciano Spalletti, so director Walter Sabatini will be looking for solutions.
Serie A and La Liga are mentioned as possible destinations, but the player could still remain in the Premier League. That’s because Southampton, who could be losing Virgil van Dijk in the summer, are looking for replacements already.
Calcio Mercato has no updates on talks or offers, but Southampton are the only club in their story. It also means that there’s no huge competition for Ranocchia, so it wouldn’t be difficult to take him from the Italian side.
Southampton have been linked previously and, like before, this just seems to be hope on behalf of Inter that Claude Puel holds some interest.
