Southampton goalkeeper Mateusz Lis has received interest from FC Copenhagen and Sparta Praga, according to Meczyki.pl.
The 25-year-old terminated his contract with Turkish side Altay SK, and joined the Saints on a free transfer this summer.
Ralph Hasenhüttl has not included the keeper in his squad for the first three league games nor in Southampton’s EFL Cup win over Cambridge United earlier this week.
Gavin Bazunu, Wilfredo Caballero and Alex McCarthy are ahead of the Polish keeper in the pecking order. With two clubs showing interest in the latter and the current situation at St Mary’s, it seems logical for Lis to go out on loan.
Instead, the player will continue at Southampton because the Premier League side expect one of their goalkeepers, McCarthy, to leave before the window closes, according to the report.
The 32-year-old’s departure would open the door for Lis to compete to become the second-choice keeper under Hasenhüttl this season.
Although a lot could happen in the final days of the window, Mecyki.pl claims that, at the moment, Southampton are ‘not planning’ to send Lis out on loan.
